In Memory of Charles “Rocky” Turner
Co-Founder and Former CEO of LPR Construction

It is with heavy hearts that we honor the life and legacy of Charles “Rocky” Turner — former CEO of LPR Construction and the “R” in our name. Rocky passed on April 16th, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of leadership, service, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

In 1979, Rocky and his wife — and high school sweetheart — Patty moved to Colorado with a bold vision and pioneering spirit. Alongside two close friends, Rocky co-founded LPR Construction, helping transform a small startup into one of the nation’s leading steel erection firms. For more than 40 years, he led the company with integrity, grit, and an uncompromising dedication to safety, quality, and people.

A true innovator, Rocky’s partnership with OSHA helped redefine fall protection standards across the industry — changes that have since saved countless lives. His passion for training and development helped shape the careers of thousands, and his influence is still felt in jobsite practices across the country.

But Rocky’s impact didn’t stop at the jobsite. He was a devoted member of the Loveland community, serving on the boards of the Loveland Business Partnership and the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER). A teacher at heart, he began his career in education after earning a master’s degree in Industrial Technology from Ball State University — and he never stopped finding ways to teach, guide, and support those around him.

He was also an Eagle Scout, a nature lover, a patron of the arts, and a generous philanthropist. Above all, Rocky was a family man. He is survived by Patty and their three sons — Linc (Natalie), John (Sara), and Sam (Danielle) — as well as eight beloved grandchildren: Simon, Maggie, Hatcher, Charlie, Will, Lydia, Jack, and Beau.

Rocky’s legacy is written not only in the skylines we helped shape, but in the culture he built, the lives he touched, and the high standards he held us all to. His fingerprints are on every beam, every blueprint, and every value we carry forward.

Our hearts are with the Turner family during this difficult time. Rocky will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held on June 21st, 2025.
