LPR Construction performed steel erection for the new Applied Underwriters headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The project features a dramatic atrium with clear openings to a roof height exceeding 90 feet and horizontal spans of 80 feet, along with large cantilevers forming the perimeter of the high roof. To improve efficiency and safety, LPR’s in-house professional engineers designed most of the T-sections to be welded on the ground and lifted as column assemblies, including the project’s heaviest pick at 51,000 pounds at a 325-foot radius.
