Mr. Rocky Turner Dear Rocky: I am pleased to approve LPR Construction in Loveland, Colorado, for the Demonstration Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). I have enclosed a copy of the report recommending approval. The quality of your safety and health program is impressive. The site's low injury and lost workday rates that have resulted from implementing effective systems, including training and employee involvement, and are evidence of the continued efforts to improve safety and health conditions at your facility. Participation in the Demonstration Program does not, of course, diminish any of the rights and responsibilities provided to you and your employees by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. Although the name of your site will continue to be removed from the scheduled inspection list, employee complaints, fatalities or catastrophes, and significant chemical leaks or spills at your site will result in normal OSHA enforcement procedures. Jerry Ryan of the Denver Regional Office is the contact person for your site. Mr. Ryan may be reached at (303) 844-1600 should you have questions or need any assistance. In February of each year when you post your injury log, please send to his attention a copy of your injury numbers and rates, your total hours worked, your average annual employment, a copy of your most recent safety and health program evaluation, and any success stories to: Gregory Baxter |
